Politics and Political parties in this nation

There are quite a few political parties that are active in the United States today. Some of them could be regarded as anachronistic, (such as the get nothing done GOP), or pretty much powerless, (such as the Democratic Party). It is the opinion of this humble writer, (and maybe a few more of you political observers out there), that the time for a real solution is coming upon us very quickly, and may just be here now.

Before I continue, let me just say that it is my opinion that the actions of the nut job who went on a shooting spree in AZ is reprehensible. Actions such as those only cloud the political landscape, and do not help anybody whatsoever. They disgust me.

I live in what once was the great state of Michigan. I say "once was" because to say that times are hard here in MI almost does not do justice to how it looks being stuck here with no job, not being able to find one, just scraping by. Once, this was "the" state to live in. We had jobs, more jobs then workers, and they were all making a very good living wage. The city I live in, Flint, had around 28,000 hourly workers working in the auto plants in the year I was born. Where I am sitting, writing this hub, once had 4 or 5 plants within 10 miles of it. They are all gone now, not just closed, but GONE like torn down and huge empty field gone. Parts of this city look like a nuke went off. I guess I am getting a little off track here, so I will get back to my subject.

There are a number of political parties to choose from, depending on your ideological view point. We all know what the two biggest are, the Dems and the GOP. They are little better then dinosaurs, I think. When the number one topic that comes out of DC is the political gridlock that gets nothing done, then there is something very wrong. I am sure that there was a time when they both were relevant, but that time is over. It is time for the Socialist parties in this nation to step out into the daylight and fix our system.

Remember, it is the duty of all good citizens to educate themselves about the issues we face as Americans today. Knowledge is power.
