Is now the time to take action?
59Like a lot of people in this nation today, I have been watching news coverage of the debt crises, and , like a lot of people, what I have seen so far has made my blood boil. I just do not understand how those fools, who are supposed to do what is best for this nation and people, can act in such a manner, and think that there will not be any backlash from their actions. It is the middle class, the so called "working class", ( working in name only!), who are going to pay the price in some way, shape, or form for the idiocy in Washington DC that is going on. When is enough going to be enough? Are we a nation of sheep?
Just think about how life would be today if the idiots we are watching in the congress had been in charge during the US civil war. I dare say that if they had A.) there would be 2 nations in what is now the United States, or B.) one nation, but one whose government was overthrown the 1860's. Think about what would have happened if those same dumb asses had been in charge during world war two. It is my opinion that, had they been, we would be a nation of german speaking people.
If you read history, you will see that whenever a large segment of any population is oppressed and disenfranchised, a revolution occurs. Think the russian civil war, or our own american revolution or that matter. I am not encouraging bloodshed, nor do I want to see any, but are we headed down the path where it is necessary for the good of the common people? At one time I would say no, but these days, I am not so sure.

I am not sure about a revolution but Jefferson did say long ago that when government is no longer responsive to the needs of their citizens, they had a patriotic duty to revolt.
You are right Sabre227. These arrogant people are threatening to take our whole economy down for their narrow minded views. Compromise is key in any society. The crazy thing is they think they are saving the country but they are only destroying the working class. Great Hub.

lol, yeah it is a pretty sad state of affairs. You have to remember though that there are a lot of very intelligent people in upper government. A lot of the just don't care or they are either to worried about padding their own pockets or worried about winning the next election.
