Just a "Thank You" to teachers

 I was on facebook recently, just looking at profiles from people whom I went to school with, and I found an old teacher who I had in high school. For those of you who are not familier with how facebook works, you have to approve a person before they can send you a message, or view your full profile. I requested that I be added to my old teacher's friend list, and he accepted. I was a little suprised that he remembered me after almost 20 years because I was the type of student who didn't stand out all that much. I could have done better then I did, but then again, who among you doesn't wish that they could go back and utilize their full potential? I guess that is the downside of hindsight. I wanted to thank him for the excellent job that he did as my teacher, and that even though I didn't show it at the time, I appreciated the time that he took to see that I learned what he was trying to teach. I was just a kid at the time,(I was in high school), and I guess I didn't grasp all of the subtle things like what kind of person it takes to instruct a bunch of kids who act as if they don't need to know the knowledge that is being taught to them. Appreciating things like that only come later when a person is a lot further down the road of life.

I think that teachers are very special people, and I would like to thank any of you who are educators. You have made more of an impression on your students then you know.
