Why all working class people should take notice of "anti-union" measures being passed by state governments
58I have been following the latest news about the protests that have been going on in the mid-west, and it makes my blood boil that the state governments are rushing anti-collective bargining, anti-union, and, in my opinion, anti-working class, bills through as fast as they can. I think that it is on par with walking up to someone who is laying on the ground injured and lifting their wallet and giving them a swift kick in the balls instead of helping them get back on their feet.
I live in Michigan, which, as everybody with a pulse knows, has been a stronghold of unionism for the last 3 or 4 generations. I have had union and non-union jobs in the past, being more concerned with getting by and keeping a roof over my head then I was with the political issues about labor and management, at best indifferent to the issues.
With the events that have happened in Wisconsin, and the swift passage of anti-union measures in Ohio, all working class people need to stand up and take notice of what is going on, without regard to their union vs non-union opinions and viewpoints. If the state governments are allowed to run roughshod over the rights of working class people, where does it stop? If they are not opposed, what will be next? The governments, both state and federal, are supposed to be, "BY THE PEOPLE AND FOR THE PEOPLE", not for special interest groups, big business CEOs, scumbag wall street speculators who drive up the price of everything or anyone else who, I think, is like a leach, sucking the lifeblood out of the middle class.
Most people just want to be able to have a decent job for a living wage so they can take care of their families and live a decent life. I don't know why that seems like asking for the moon in the world of today. If you read history, that has always been the desire of most people, and when there has been something in the way of reaching that goal, a revolution has been the result, for better or worse.

Unions served their purpose back at the start of the 20th century when low wages and horrid working conditions were prevalent.
There are even instances where unions are beneficial today. However, many unions are completely useless. The worker is screwed out of his union dues, and the union really doesn't represent him very much at all.
Bottom line....if your job sucks so much that you need a union, go find another one.

I wonder how many teachers, policemen, firemen and other working class union people voted republican in the last election? I bet they won't do it again! The 2012 elections are going to be a landslide.
